A simple test last no more than 20 minutes will assess the hearing of employees. This is followed up with an annual examination. If the test shows hearing loss we would advise the employee to see their GP. If there is mild hearing loss again we would alert the employee to this. If the noise levels are allowed to persist, with no protection for workers, then this may result in a loss of hearing and/or tinnitus.

Ongoing Sickness Management
To ensure all employees are in good health, we would monitor the progress of any illness, by telephone interview, by face to face interview and medical investigation.
We would examine the illness and causes to ensure that any claim is in fact genuine, conducting further investigations, where necessary.
We would first try to ascertain the root cause of the illness, as in some cases a simple change in the work environment can improve employee health.
With ongoing sickness management our objective is to get the employee back into work as soon as possible and as soon as the employee is able. If it transpires that a change of work/ environment or hours within the company may help during rehabilitation then we would work in partnership with management and employee to facilitate and promote employee recovery.
These are carried out to ensure the prospective employee is psychologically and physically capable of undertaking the proposed work. We would look into the current and previous health issues if they exist.
We would seek to identify if the employee would be at excess risk of developing any work related illness from hazardous agents in the workplace
We would aim to look into the health status of employees at the beginning of their employment. Employers want to ensure individuals are fit to undertake to duties proposed.
Good management of absence clearly starts at this stage.
Comprehensive and confidential health questionnaires are given to prospective employees and then returned to us. Our fully qualified health professional would then use this to identify any health related issues. These maybe followed up by face to face interview and assessment by our medical team.

Referral to a Specialist
Where necessary if an employee, has a condition requiring further investigation or treatment we are able to refer the employee to a specialist. We would use employee medical notes from their GP in order to look into the past medical history to assist us, in this decision.
Pathology and Blood testing
We able to provide a complete and thorough health-check for employees where we feel further investigations are necessary.
We would take samples of blood or urine which we would send to a pathology lab where we are provided with results in a very short space of time. The results would guide us into what course of action to take next if it is necessary.
